    Default Strange message!

    I just noticed, when using various account functions in the WHM, version 8.5.1, we get this notice or error message:
    Code:
    == WORKAROUND ENABLED ==
    Serious Problem -- This should never happen!!
    The hostname (justlightening.justlightening.net) is owned
    by the user justligh
    == WORKAROUND ENABLED ==
    Our hostname is justlightening.justlightening.net, and the justligh is a valid account username for our domain http://www.justlightening.net.

    Is this something to be concerned about and how can this be corrected or what would cause this error ??

    thx's

    We have three servers set up identically and have this issue on one of the three, but not on the other two. I would like to know how to resolve it as well.

    Correct SeverAdmin procedure is to:

    - always have root own the hostname
    - never double-name a sub-domain, especially for a hostname

    Although it would require lots of time & effort to switch things around, it is probably the only way to avoid the errors/warnings being received.

    I think that's what our problem was, a sub domain, "justlightening.justlightening.net". which I removed.

    When you say, .. "always have root own the hostname "
    how would one check that the hostname is actually "owned" by root??
