    Default strange SSL issue

I installed an SSL certificate on a domain, signed by a certificate company, but still when I visit the site it displays a self-signed certificate.

It may be so that I first installed a self-signed certificate, but after that I used the real certificate. It seems like it is not overwritten or something like it.

Is that possible or does things like that stay in your browsers cache?

    SSH in to your box

    look in

    /usr/share/ssl/certs

I think you can find more info there

    regards

Can you also see the affected domain (the one with the troubels ?

    like this

    www.yourdomain.com.crt and
    www.yourdomain.com.crt.old.xxxxxxxx

That was wat happend to me when i did change from self
signed to paid on the same site.

    Yup I see this:

    secure.domain.com.crt
    secure.domain.com.crt.old.3768535
    secure.domain.com.crt.test
    secure.domain.com.csr

Should I delete some of those?

I also have those for a domain that runs ssl okay. On the same server.

    I know
i have the same on my server and it is good.

But the one who doesnt work try if you can see if the key in there is the same like the one that you purchase

    Look at BEGIN CERT
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    END CERT

    compare secure.domain.com.crt
    secure.domain.com.crt.old.3768535

Maybe the selfsigned cert ist used by that domain en the paid one is the old one .

You can also try to install the paid cert again and then look
at the secure.domain.com.crt has a change
Check the old one as well if it had a change.

In theorie it must be possibble to delete the certs of a particular domain and install it again but i never did that myself so i can not recomend to you.

Let me know if you found something.

    regards

    Martin

    This works fine:

    rm -rf secure.domain.com.crt*

    Then reinstall through WHM

    Thanks!
