Sub domain from folder to sibling folder

Hello guys and girls,

I have one hosting account and multiple domains one for each subfolder.

I want to create a subdomain for one of my domains but the thing is that the folder that I want the subdomain to point to is a sibling folder to the domain. This has an access problem as when I visit the subdomain link I get the cgi-bin default page.

Is it true about the access problem or is it a misconfiguration that I did?

Not sure but check if the subdomain is resolving to the server correctly then please make sure that the IP given in the apache virtual host for the subdomain should be same as it resolves to.

You can change the Document root of the subdomain in the httpd.conf file, make sure that the document for the subdomain is correct.

You don't need or want to be editing the httpd.conf for this sort of thing.

I take it you mean you have addon domains added to your main domain? An addon domain creates a folder like this.
