subdomain not redirecting

I created a subdomain sub.main.com but instead of being able to access it at main.com/sub it redirects to main.com

I have seen some threads about this but haven't found an answer yet

I will appreciate any help you may give me. I am also managing the server but I am a complete Newbie. This is the first account I create and the firs linux server I manage.

Kindly check the apache error logs for the redirection. You will find the exact reason regarding the redirection. You can get the error logs from /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log.

Also, check what is the document root for the sub-domain you created and if there are any redirect rules set in the .htaccess file under your public_html directory.
