sudden error 500 error in cpanel hosted TYPO 3

Hello,

I'm getting a 500 Internal Server Error when trying to access a TYPO 3 site hosted in cpanel.

I have tried all the recipes and workarounds but unfortunately nothing worked out.
It should be something with the cpanel since there was no modifications on the affected site.

Any ideas or thoughts are more than welcome.

Cpanel version: 11.30.2.1

PHP 5.2.17 (cli)
Zend Engine v2.2.0
ionCube PHP Loader v3.3.20
Zend Optimizer v3.3.9

How was typo3 installed, manually or via Fantastico or some other installer?

Typo3 was installed manually.

I have triple-check the ownership and permissions of files.

What are the permissions on the folders, 777? Is the server using SuPHP do you know?

Also, what are permissions on public_html?

The server is using suPHP and I have checked that the folders are with permission 755.

Have you checked your error logs for clues? You might try accessing the site and then view the error log in that accounts cPanel.

The only error that I get is:

Premature end of script headers: index.php

Find the .htaccess file on the account and rename it to disable it being read. Renaming it to .htaccess.txt will work. Try accessing the site again. Also, what are permissions on that index.php?

I renamed already the .htaccess didn't work.
Permissions of index.php: 644

Strange indeed. Do you have root access to this server?

Very strange.

I have used an old backup.. not so nice option, but at least works at the time.
