Question Switching Register Globals to Off

    Hello,

    I'm running:

    WHM 6.4.2 cPanel 6.4.2-S75
    RedHat 7.3 - WHM X v2.1

All on a Virtuozzo virtual private server. I wish to turn off Register Globals for every website I host.

If I edit /etc/php.ini and restart all the servers services when I do a phpinfo() on the hosted sites Register Globals is on?!?!

Can anyone help? Do I need to edit any other files or is my hosting company preventing me from turning register globals to off?!?

Any help is extremely apreciated as I've been trying to get this sorted for weeks.

When you do a phpinfo() what is the path to php.ini? Are you sure it is /etc/php.ini? Mine was in /usr/local/Zend/etc
It could also be in /usr/lib/

    Hello

Sadly I can only find it in /etc/php.ini

This /usr/local/Zend/etc doesn't exist on my server and its not in here:

    /usr/lib/

    Thanks for your help

    Thanks so much!!!

    I found it here:

    /usr/local/lib/php.ini

And ... register Globals is off.

Will this now be the same for every one of my sites?

    I hope so?!?!

That will do, don't forget to :

    service httpd restart

to reload the php configuration. That will change the global config, as long as your not inforcing a virtualhost config, register globals should be off now for each site.
