Table corruption with MySQL4

We have users complaining of table corruption since the MySQL was updated to version 4. We recompiled PHP to use the newer MySQL client API and that seemed to fix a lot of the problems. However, we have clients that are using CGI scripts and complaining of table corruption. Specifically the Ikonboard forum script, the CGI version. Does anyone know what might be causing the corruption, or how to fix this problem? The MySQL Client API is 4.0.13, but this is for PHP and does not really affect CGI and perl scripts.

Users should check to make sure that their version of Ikonboard is up to date and compatible with the new version of MySQL.

You may also want to verify that the scripts have enough time to execute and that either the scripts or the MySQL processes aren't being killed off because of extended execution times.

Perhaps while you're in it, take a look at the file system to make sure it's in good shape as well.
