Default Timeout ...a fatal error or timeout occurred while processing this directive]

    Hi,

Tried copying a 5GB site from server A to server B and having it fail with this error:

a fatal error or timeout occurred while processing this directive]Retrying....Packaging the account...

Is there any easier way to transfer the account from server a to server b?

I was doing the CP move feature in WHM.

    Thanks Jason

It'll be more reliable if you do it from the root shell:

    /scripts/pkgacct username

This will create a cpmove* tarball in /home for that account. Copy that over to /home on the new server and then restore it:

    /scripts/restorepkg username

We have been having the same problems on a few of our servers since we upgraded cpanel.

Although we contacted cpanel's tech, there seems to be no solution to the latest problem.

This error occurs be it on a VPS or Server, regardless of the size of the sites being moved.

    Anyone any ideas?

We have been experiencing this on sites over 100MB. Under 100MB seem to be ok, but anything over 100MB has a very large chance of failing with this error. A 1200MB site took 1.5 hours, then failed.. it seems like it takes longer than before for the script to make a copy of the site before it creates the tar files.

For all sites over 100MB we have to use Chirpy's method above, when in the past we could use the copy multiple account feature for sites up to 2GB or so. We just move sites from 1 server to another on the same 100Mbps network so the slowness is definitely in the packaging, not the transfer.

I just had it happen with a 20MB site. When it failed, it automatically tried again and finally suceeded. Seems strange though, that it would take so long to copy and tar the files. The restores are going 20x faster on another server.

I agree. We keep getting timeout errors during the packaging stage. Probably a cpanel bug?

Now NONE of our servers can work with the cpmove feature.
