    Default Timezone for Specific Account?

    Hey guys,
Is there any way to set a timezone for a specific account that differs from the overall server timezone? I have a client in the UK that is complaining about his "last modified" times on files in FTP being off due to the server time (EST) being different than his own (GMT). He claimed his previous host did this for him, but I don't see how?

    Thanks,
    Kyle

You can't set a different timezone on the server itself. It may be possible to set a different timezone within the FTP server configuration, but I doubt you'd be able to do it with pure-ftpd (you'd have to check their site). It may be possible with proftpd as it is far more configurable that pure-ftpd but then you'd be stepping outside of the standard cPanel setup. Some FTP clients allow you to configure a timezone offset and that would probably be the better solution.

This will work for http... not sure if it affects ftp.

    Open the file...

    /www/.htaccess

Inside that file, place the following....
--- cut below this line ---

    SetEnv TZ America/Atlanta

--- Cut above this line ---

Replace "America/Atlanta" with the actual country, continent, city or timezone the user is in.

    Hope this helps.
