Today upcp problem again

I have received maybe 1000 times this mail

cPanel Update (upcp) is already running. Please wait for the previous upcp to complete, or kill off all upcp processes and try again. You may wish to use '--force' at /scripts/upcp line 43.

And also running this PID

Many times killed and try --force install but same

Any idea for this problem.

I tried many times...

did u append the "9" when killing the process?

killall -9 upcp

after that, try grep if any upcp is running by:

ps -aux | grep upcp

Other 3 friends servers is the same everytime upcp error mail received.

Any idea for this update

Today same problem again....Maybe 2000 mail received from my server.

Cron Daemon Cron <root@imagine> /scripts/upcp

And also my friends server is same since morning.

Any idea ?

I have see same problem in my dedicated

and load is abnormal

I had this problem and I had to go through WHM to do my update. What it looked like it was doing was updating sshd so it would shut it down then it looked like it was just hanging and not doing anything.

I noticed that when I finaly done the update via WHM.

Not sure that will work for you but it worked for me.

Can you see the upcp process running even after killing the process ?

ps -afx

Does it shows the process upcp ? Also you said the load is abnormal . It seems to be a uninterruptible process which contain parent and child process .if you cannot kill the process , then it seems that process enters the kernal and cannot get the signal interrupt from the kill process .
Kill using kill -9 pid
or
Try rebooting you server .
