Is there an easy way for our users to have access to JSP logfiles pertaining to their user account?

Can this be accomplished by a web.xml comment in the users WEB-INF file? If so, can someone share a common "shared" web.xml file that has logging comments?

If this can NOT be accomplished in the web.xml file . . . is there third party solutions out there that is reliable yet inexpensive.

You can either configure the FileLogger API for each host entry in the server.xml or simply tell the customer to implement log4j externally into their application. The log4j will be much more robust than the internal FileLogger API. They can get log4j from the jakartra website.

Depending upon your actual needs, you may also want to add an Access Log Valve (link to that on the same page above).

An actual Logger example entry is already in your server.xml for the default context (using FileLogger).
