Hi all,

I am using Tomcat 3.2.4 on my server and time to time the service fails and of course none of the Tomcat websites is working properly.

I was wondering if anyone knows how to implement some sort of service monitor so that I receive email whenever Tomcat is down. I guess a cron job which checks the status let's say every 15 min should do the job.

I'm a newbie in area of writing scripts like this. Would anybody know how exactly to implement this (some code example would be a great help)?
