Total server newbie needing help

MY friend has given me root on his server, to update it all, as he hasnt used it in ages.

This is specs.

WHM 8.8.0 cPanel 8.8.0-R119
RedHat 7.3 - WHM X v2.1.2

when i login i get an update kernel message.

Can someone guide me through updating the kernel please.
