Default Transfer accounts with configserver's mail manager leaves out email accounts?

    Hello!

I've got a new server set up with ConfigServer's Mail Manage + MailScanner. I used WHM to transfer an account from the old server to the new server. Everything transferred correctly, but the individual email accounts on the domain transferred aren't showing up in cPanel or the Mail Manage list. They are there under /home/<username>/mail/<domain>/

Has anyone else seen something like this? I can go recreate the accounts via Mail Manage, but then I have to reset the passwords. So this is extra manual work and then annoys the client because they have all their email account passwords reset.

Can anyone provide any help as to why this might have happened and how to either fix it or at least keep it from happening on future account transfers?

    Thanks!

    Default Never mind... sort of

I figured out that for some reason the WHM transfer wasn't properly copying the /home/<account>/etc directory.

A quick manual copy and it appears everything is working as expected. I don't know why the transfer skipped the etc folder, though. Hmmm. I welcome any further thoughts.

I recommend having our technical analysts assist you with this so we can determine why the contents of ~/etc weren't copied and take corrective action.

    Hi David!

I'd be happy to do this, except I'm not sure if it'll help at this point. I've already manually recopied the ~/etc directories and got things working. Does the account transfer mechanism write out a log file?

Now that I know about this, I'll watch for it as I transfer other accounts (I have about 30-40 still to do).

However, if it would be useful for a cPanel tech analyst to peek at the computer even after I've manually adjusted things, let me know and I'll get a ticket going.

    Thanks!

Account transfer logs are stored in /var/cpanel/logs/

If you ever encounter this again, feel welcome to start a ticket .
