Transferring accounts from one machine to another

Hello,

I have been getting some hard drive sector errors on a cpanel machine. We have now setup another machine and would like to use the WHM transfer tool to transfer the content from the bad machine to the new one.

Some of the accounts on the bad machine are reseller accounts. Will those accounts be transferred properly? Will the domains those resellers host be moved and remain under their control? Will databases be moved? Thanks in advance.

I have experienced transferring 400 accounts from one
machine to another. The server has also about 12 resellers.

The move is very smooth. Even, after the transfer, my
resellers are enable to login to their WHM without any
difficulty. Their clients are still attached to their WHM.

It took about 10 hours to transfer. (both servers
are in different NOC). But it still very good in my opinion.
(But please make sure that you have very good internet
connection on your side, otherwise the transfer will fail).

Thanks for the reply. Does the transfer leave a copy of everything on the original server? I want to do the transfer, but keep the malfunctioning machine up until the content can be verified and such.

When you copy the accounts to a new/different server, the originals are still on the original server.

Are email accts transferred also or does the user have to recreate all them (if they have more than one)

Email accounts are transferred.

How are the IP's handled?

I would think that using new ones on the new Server would be the norm, what happens to the accounts -- both Shared & Dedicated IP's -- since new IPs will be assigned?

Some of this information is correct. The reseller account is transferred but not the accounts they have created so one has to copy the reseller account followed by his/her accounts assigned under that reseller. At least thats what we had to do.

I just copied account from one WHM to other, and everything seems to be copied except mySQL bases. It wasn't even created on new server. Is there a way to copy mySQL bases as well with acount copy function?
