Default UDP Port 3074 - does it count traffic?

    I am running WHM 11.26.20.

I have a client who has asked us to open UDP port 3074 as he has some kind of game server stuff going on.

client: "I have php based web game server running for my clients to control their game servers. The new black ops pc game uses this port."

Does the traffic via this port get counted in his bandwidth report?
Is the traffic to and from this port significant?
Is it secure to open this port for a client?

    Thanks for your help.
    Kindest Regards

This is not counted by cPanel's bandwidth usage system. This only counts traffic in the following categories: HTTP, FTP, POP/IMAP and SMTP. It does not count traffic over ports that are used by services that cPanel does not control.

Documentation for the bandwidth tracking system is available here:

Port 3074 is Xbox Live. Most likely hes trying to set up a VPN or a tunneling method where his home modem or xbox will first travel to the server and then out to the internet. Hiding his home IP address. Why you may ask. Well I play lots of Live and Xbox live has turned into DDOS battles. People are buying VPN servers with Cisco Protection so they cant get easily hit offline by script kiddies and there 100 count bot nets. If you let this happen be prepared for Massive DDOS attacks to the IP.
