unable to change from geotrust to self signed cert for whm/cpanel access

I've had a geotrust cert, but now that it is expired I'm wanting to simply change back to a self signed cert.

I've tried "reset server certificate" which warns me that a third party cert has been installed -> I click continue and get a success message that :

A new certificate has been generated!

SSL Certificates have been reset and SSL restarted.

However, when I visit any domain's cpanel or WHM, it's still pulling up the old geotrust cert.

I then tried "Generate a SSL Certificate and Signing Request" to generate a self signed cert, and then pasted that into "Change Server Certificates" for WHM/Cpanel.

How can I change back to a self-signed cert and get rid of the expired geotrust cert?

Sorry. Rebooted and all is well.

I thought that since the message said "and SSL restarted" that would have taken care of any needed restarts.

What exactly has to be restarted in addition to SSL for cert changes to take effect?

Appears a simple
service cpanel restart
from ssh is all that is required to make the ssl cert change actually take effect.

Possibly this should be built in with a future whm release.
