    Post up2date

    Greetings,

I have noticed that my cron /scripts/upcp have stoped working since the 28th Aug....This may been caused by the following SSL cert being expired! If anyone has any further info please let me know..This is the reason why up2date has stoped working correctly since that date.

The certificate used by up2date and rhn_register to communicate with the Red Hat Network reached its end of life on August 28th 2003. Users attempting to connect to Red Hat Network will see SSL connection or certificate verification failures.

New versions of the up2date and rhn_register clients are now available which are required for continued access to Red Hat Network.

    * RHSA-2003:268 for Red Hat Enterprise Linux:

New versions of the up2date client that contain the new certificate are immediately available for download at:

For users who would prefer to install the new certificate directly, it is available at:

I don't belive up2date has anything to do with this.
Check your cron and see if your cron for /scripts/upcp exists?
    View crontab via
    crontab -e

    Thanks for the info,

Have checked and found that nothing has changed inside the crontab file?

The info for /scripts/upcp is still set as before.

up2date is the redhat utility to update rpms. There is no need to use this utility. In fact i should shut it's service down as it allows package control via there support site.

if upcp is dieing, ensure that you dont have cpanel updates set to never.
