    Question Update Breaks License?

Curious if anyone else has noted updating cpanel recently has resulted in licensing issues. We upgraded our fleet to 11.28.52 and have had to run /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt on nearly all of them since then.

    Error:

This server is currently not licensed. Please contact the server administrator. Other services available on this server such as web services are likely functioning normally. (License file is not complete. [5191,20,296,4895,5350410])

Does this happen with successive 11.28 updates, or just the initial 11.26 -> 11.28 style upgrade?

It happened going from 11.28.45, 11.28.39 (possibly others) -> 11.28.52. It also happened from 11.26.20 (?) to 11.28.52.

Can you reproduce it on an 11.28.52 machine by running upcp, or upcp --force, directly? If so would you mind opening a support ticket so we can examine a system? It sounds like the license file is becoming corrupted in some manner.

We've had it happen on machines already running 11.28.52 and have their daily upcp run. Been unable to re-produce it on our test machine though. With production machines we just run /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt to fix it as we can't tell customers to wait when they cannot access their cpanel.

Wish could be of more help on this.
