    Default Update Server - RH7.3

    Hello,

we've been running RH7.3 w/cpanel now for quiet awhile and realize we should start considering updating our server,... RHE or Progeny...etc.

Was hoping to get some helpful suggestion or recommendations from other users as which is the best route to take and still maintain compatiblity with WHM/Cpanel. We have approximately 45+ hosting accounts running very smoothly and don't wish too interupt their service anymore then necessary

    Appreciate any feedback or suggestions.

    TIA,
    Mickalo

    Then why update?

We are running RH7.3 on a majority of our servers with no problems at all. We were initially concerned that security patches would no longer be available once the RH EOL kicked in, but that is not the case.

We are saving updates for new boxes.

Are you still getting updates for your RH7.3,... is that what your saying

yes, our box is about as secure as it possibly can be. This was one of our main concerns tho,..kernel patches, security updates,..etc. But like they say, ....If it works.... don't fix it!
thax's for the feedback, appreciate it,

fedoralegacy updates have been.. rather.. well.. pretty much non-existent.

I'd consider uping to RHEL if you need the support from redhat, else, look into CentOS, www.centos.org.

I've put together a migration howto for rh 9 -> centos remotely on this forum in the general area. You may want to do a search for it.
