Default Upgrade breaks Cpanel on FreeBSD

Disabled the password reset function thursday but nevertheless Cpanel found it necessary to release a quick-fixed stable version.

At the moment 2 Cpanel servers are down (for the Cpanel-part) meaning my clients can't login to cpanel/whm and can't use Webmail (which they use a lot).

This is caused by the update-script, which apperantly first deleted the old binaries and is stuck on receiving the updates from the update server. This is both ON 4.9 AND 5.1 ?!

I can see the orginal updatescript is my processlist but in the meantime I did a "killall -9 whostmgrd cpaneld webmaild" as was suggested in the Cpanel-news, silly me ...

So now also my webmail is gone and my boxes are far from ok. Until yesterday everything was fine, so thanks to Cpanel for providing us with well-tested updates

How can this be solved ? I get a feeling that is not tested proparly for FreeBSD since I see notices of "/usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libc.so.6" not found ". Can somebody tell me what to do ?

Hmm, interupted the update process (it seems that there is a lock at the cpanel.sync.lock ?).

When I try to start cpsrvd manually I get :

    server1# /usr/local/cpanel/cpsrvd
    Can't locate utf8.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.0/i386-freebsd /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.0/i386-freebsd /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl .).
    BEGIN failed--compilation aborted.

Is this also the case with you ?

I noticed that utf8.pm is looked up in perl.5.6.0 but it isn't excisting anylonger. When copied perl5.6.1. to perl5.6.0 I received a new error about Compress:Zlib

    Longer futher...

What time are those Cpanel boys awake ?

I suppose we were on Perl 5.6.0 and now we are on 5.6.1

I'm trying a "pkg_add -f linux-base.7.1_5" since I saw 4.9 complaining about not being able to update this without force

Didn't work from prompt. Also not from /stand/sysinstall as there is a version conflict. Can this be compiled from ports ?

I have created a ticket. Michael is now looking at it... I'm curious what will be the cause afterall.

I hope there is a fix for this...this outage took more then needed for a "STABLE" release....this is not stable at all.

This will also be the last time i upgrade ;-) after everything is working i will disable updates.

Michael managed to get one of my servers up again (just 5 minutes ago). I will ask him what he did...
(so I can do the rest myself)
