    Cool upgrading MySQL to 4.1.X

    hi all,

I have to upgrade MySQL from v 3.0.28 to v 4.1.X, I have WHM installed in mysever and i use RH 9 Oprating System.

What is the best way to upgrade?and does the upgrading have any drawback for WHM?

    Regards,
    Yousef

From WHM > Tweak Settings > MySQL you can set which version of MySQL to use, however the more recent versions of WHM/Cpanel only give the option of MySQL 4 or 4.1.

This makes me wonder what version of WHM/Cpanel you are running if you have MySQL 3.0.28, and you may want to consider upgrading to the latest RELEASE version of WHM/Cpanel before upgrading MySQL.

Before upgrading MySQL make sure you backup all databases - MySQL 4 to 4.1 is not automatically reversible and so I assume that 3.X to 4.1 will be practically impossible to revert from without full database backups.

after i opened Tweak Settings i choose second option and i clicked Save, after that the system told me ((click here)) after i click i got the result belw, and i find my mysql v is 4.0.28 not 4.1.8,Does the mydql data base from V 4.1.8 work fine on 4.0.28? or i must to upgrade to 4.1.8?.
