Sure, I'll get those sent over a little later today. The server is to busy right now to really do anything on it...
Thanks!

Shaun,
Let me know if you got my email.![]()
Since this server is running 4.0.4 , I am thinking a temp fix would be to change php.ini to read &file_uploads = Off& as per the recommendation near the bottom of the page here:
http://security.e-matters.de/advisories/012002.html
That will at least make it a little more secure for the time being. Anyone see any problems with this?
mpope, you could also download and recompile the latest PHP 4.2.1 from www.php.net yourself and that will upgrade you in no time with all the security patches.
Yeah, I will try to do that if we cannot figure anything else out, but I'd much rather figure out what is wrong with the server so that I can use the buildapache.sea in the future.
I have figured out what was wrong it looks like it may be a bug in the buildapache.sea. I am investigating this as we speak i will let you know what i find.

You're the man shaun! Thanks for your help. It feels so good getting that upgraded

well i've build apache many time so far with SSL, IMAP and CURL and it works fine. So the buildapache.sea script looks ok.
Anyway if anybody else runs into this problem, run the /scripts/easyapache and select advanced. Under php unselect imap. Then it should work.
It broke my Frontpage
I managed most of the upgrade fine, thanks to all your posts here. Had to chown a hundred directories, all the groups were messed up, and a ton of CGI scripts stopped working.
But now that I've done all that I've discovered that somehow Frontpage Extensions didn't get installed in the upgrade.
All my sites that rely on the extensions now don't work, and Ventures Online just told me that they'll have to take 1-2 hours at $65 per hour to reinstall Apache and reconfigure the Frontpage Extensions into CPanel's buildapache.sea.
Has anybody else encountered the same thing? If you had, or have any clue, please let me know.
Really hope that somebody can help, as VO doesn't seem prepared to support CPanel's buggy product anymore and now we've gotta start paying for support whenever their &upgrades& have bugs in them!
Sadly, my CPanel server has had horrible uptimes and given me hundreds of headaches, compared to my Plesk servers that have been running stably for 2 years.
If anyone here is going to help you, we will need a bit more information.
Are there any frontpage related entries in your apache error log? Specificly what operation are you trying to perform (if there is one specific one)? What error does the Frontpage client give you?

My opinions as expressed here, are my own.
it sounds like you went from a non-suexec environment, to an apache build WITH suexec.
?
Can you also provide us with the current error_log entry of when Apache is loaded into memory?
(the module list, when it sez Apache version, mod_ssl, mod_frontpage, PHP_4.2.1, etc)
that would help as well
