urgent email problem

I am having problem with our mail server. I am trying to send mail and it is not sending it , here is the command.

/scripts]# echo testing | mail -v abx....@gmail.com
LOG: MAIN
<= root@servername.com U=root P=local S=36

It is not trying to connect to external mail server. What may be the problem? Please help.

2007-08-24 09:53:04 1IOaX2-0005ZK-8l <= root@zzz.xx*********** U=root P=local S=356

It is not connecting to external mail server . What may be the problem? I did telnet domain.com 25 for other server manually and weorks fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Hmmm... Please put in a ticket and we'll check it out. Also, in the ticket, please send along the entire transcript so we can check it more thoroughly. Are you having problems sending to any other domains?

Yes, I can't send email to internal and extermal domains. I have already submitted the ticket.
