Urgent help needed - MySql upgrade failed during WHM Update

Hi

I was updating cpanel to version 11 and all was going well untill i got this message :

This script updates all the mysql privilege tables to be usable by
MySQL 4.0 and above.

Now SQL wont work. Can i run /scripts/mysqlup and then try the update of whm again or will that make things worse?

Appears you have a memory problem. Is this on a VPS?

The new CP 11 I heard requires more memory than 10 and as of now, it seems to create quite a few rlimit and memory problems on VPS.

Maybe you can try /scripts/mysqlup --force and see if you have the same memory problem.

If it persists, then you might want to contact your host and up the memory for your VPS.

Thats weird as i have 2 dedicated servers both with the same amount of memory and the other one is ok.

Can i roll cpanel back to version 10 or is that even more trouble?

We went from 10 to 11 and a few problem arises which we cannot fix. We could not afford the downtime because our users were screaming, so we went back to 10 by updating it to STABLE, which is presently still at 10.

Perform a STABLE upgrade and then do a upcp --force to ensure that its updated. You can also update system soft to be sure.

HOWEVER, you mentioned you have DEDICATED SERVERS, so I am not sure if the problem is with the NODE because the problem you raised happens only on VPS. You might want to contact cpanel if yours is a dedicated.

Cpanel is encouraging users to submit a support ticket if they have problems with 11.
