Default username & password aren't accepted for Front Page publishing logon

    Hello,

I am noticing that for the domains on my server, if they try to publish to their site using front page, it pops up the logon box fine, however if you enter the username and password for the cpanel account, it is rejected. Is there another username and/or password that needs to be used? If so, where is this configured?

If I try to publish via FTP instead of HTTP in front page, it will logon with the CPanel name/password.

I have current version of C-Panel and fron page extensions are installed. I even tried to uninstall/reinstall FP extensions - still no luck.

    Any ideas?

Are they entering username or username@domain.com. Our customers have to do username@domain.com.

I have tried both ways. Neither works.

I tried searching the forums, but have not found anything quite like this problem. Most others were relatingf to the domain name not being propogated through the internet yet. This is also on a new server (about a month old). The front page was never working for this account. It is strange, becuase front page will try to open the site, and I get the username/password prompt - so the front page extensions must be installed - but it will not accept any username/password combination I can think of.

This has happened to me a couple of times and removing and then reinstalling the extensions solved it.

I removed and Re-installed the Front Page Extensions from WHM instead of the user's cPanel account and that finally worked.

Next time try to sync the passwords first before removing and installing the fp extensions again. I have found at times syncing the passwords does the trick.
