Using 2 hard drives for accounts

I am currently deciding over two different spec servers. If I had a server with two hard drives, would it be possible to create accounts on both. e.g. allow the main hdd to get to 60% or so capacity, and all new accounts from there would be made on the second hdd?

These are the two options:

P4 2.40GHz, 1GB DDR, 300GB SATA HDD
P4 2.60GHz HT, 1GB DDR, 2x 80GB HDD

Obviously the second has a performance advantage with the faster cpu and HT, but is it possible, or would it be easy to have accounts made on both of the drives, or would the single drive server be easier?

Default Home Directory

* Enter the location where you wish for new users' home directories to be created. By default all directories matching the "Home Directory Prefix" are checked for available disk space and the directory with the most free space will be used.

Example: /home

This is taken from the whm/cpanel setup page so as long as the default is set to a prefix of the user directories then cpanel will load balacne the mutli user directories

as far as one way being better than the other I really don't see that much advantage either way

my suggestion would be to get the dual 80 drives and mirror them with raid1
