Version NUmber

I am a little new to cPanel, I'll admit. In the 6 months or so we have been using it, it has gone from verion six to, just this morning I notice, version 8!

Best reason given for calling it version 7 was Exim4. Now we are at version 8. What was so drastically changed that we are justified in calling it a new version?
