I agree.

I've seen far too many hosters that don't even know Linux and think Cpanel, Ensim will do it for them! WHat happens when their system screws up!

chown is a universally known command, and if they knew any linux at all they should know this first...

I on the other hand used to admin LInux servers for Matchmaker.com, and also work as a Security Systems ENgineer. This gives my customers a much more secure feeling.

WHy? Because if something screws up, I'm there and able to do it.
