I am trying to run VMWare server on cPanel but am having a lot of trouble getting my virtual server assigned any sort of static IP. Does anyone know how I would go about stopping cPanel from using one of its IPs so that VMWare can use it?

Bah, used the delete IP tool to remove it. But still having trouble configuring VMWare's NAT/DHCP to properly work...
Anyone having any ideas?
Hello,
If you want the VM to use IPs that are in the same IP block of the hardware node itself then you need to be using Bridging and not NAT/DHCP.

I'm running VMServer next to CPanel without troubles.
And indeed, use the Bridge option for network, make sure the IP is not assigned in cpanel. assign the IP to you virtual machine. Voila.
Works like a charm!
