    Default VPS Optmized Logo

    Hello,

We host a number of clients VPS's and since the recent change we have had a number of requests on how to remove the cPanel optmized logo. I understand our VPS clients do not like the logo, and that it can be changed in the branding options, however resellers then still see the VPS optmized logo, also the same with WHM, is there any way to change back to the old logos as by default?

At this time, there is no way to remove the VPS optimized logos from any VPS Optimized cPanel/WHM installation.

    Hi,

I noticed you said "at this time" so are you looking to make this optional?

    Cool

Yes, this should be removed sometime soon... but you'd need to wait

Having the VPS Optimized Logo on the product is consistent with the way we brand all our products. You can use our branding interface to customize the product however we will not de-brand our product as the default offering.

As far as I am aware, there is no way to brand your WHM logo, nor resellers default branding.

A number of our VPS clients, and it seems by doing a search on this forum, a number of cPanel clients are not happy about this logo, therefore I would have thought you could make an option such as in the tweak settings, so VPS users can have normal logo scheme if they choose to.

I have already had clients even ask of possible ways to migrate to other control panels if the logo change is not possible. So a logo does seem to make a big difference in some cases.

Yea thats what i thought. Besides it is NOT de-branding. If you look at it properly. Your product IS CPANEL. VPS Optimized is just an added on functionality. Why not come up with a tweak. As you know this is 2008 and the market for control panels are growing bigger everyday. The reason CPanel beat Virtuozzo hands down is because it provides flexibility. And i have seen more free control panels now beating Virtuozzo. From this we can see, clearly reputation of being in the market for a long time does not help.

This is just my cents worth.

I guess I'm lost then. What's wrong with the logo? If it's ugly, we can change it.

    Hi Dave,

If there is anything to describe CPanel, it is SLEEK. And sleek is good right?
However what goes in between the lines somehow reads like this:

There are resellers doing webhosting who is not very comfortable in letting customers know that they are just running a VPS and not a full server. Once again in between THIS line is this:

Image counts, maybe you would subscribe from a green newbie in whatever industry it is even if you don't know if these newbies can deliver but thats not how everybody sees it. New means you need to prove yourself. And in THIS industry(Webhosting) newbies are tarnished by failed examples of other newbies failure by expanding too fast, overselling etc. But for those who does NOT oversell and an honest and stable hosting, they are still affected by this public view. Do you not think so?

Why not just remove the word VPS and let the word "Optimized" stay? And perhaps CPanel can come up with a module to detect overload and prevent it perhaps by imposing limits on criterias? It's unheard of, and whats unheard of usually means pioneer. And pioneer means? You're the first! And if you're the first, you have to keep it up and not let the competition beat u. Go CPanel!

    Rgrds,
    Xyber13.

    Well Mr Mhmjr,
Since we are in the topic of scrutinizing honesty and lies. To lie is to pass an information that is incorrect. How is not telling at all a lie? Anyways, all this scrutinizing will only lead to the pointing of fingers who is at fault in the first place. And CPanel may even be implicated for not imposing features that prevents overcrowding of accounts or causing instability to server. And then CPanel will point out come facts that it cannot be held liable due to technology limitations. And then what? Blame those inventors for not inventing quick enough before they die to promote enhancement of technology now?

What will be accomplished by scrutinity then? Why can't we just get back to the root of this topic posted by the original starter regarding the option to tweak the graphics? Is it so hard to do so even after pointing out that CPanel will NOT be DE-BRANDING their product WHICH IS BY THE WAY CALLED CPANEL. Thank you Mr Mhmjy, if you wish, we could debate on this topic further somewhere else and let only serious discussions about this thread be discussed here.

And thank you wonderful CPanel developers who always jumped at every instance to help us - Your users.

    Rgrds,

    Since you asked...

    Lying by omission
One lies by omission by omitting an important fact, deliberately leaving another person with a misconception.

    That seems a tad snarky.

What the majority of my VPS clients seem to prefer, is the option to have it on or off.

Some do not want it there as they do not want people to know its on a VPS, others don't mind if there customers know, they just don't want the reminded by logging into cPanel every min, they would rather it not be so obvious, and therefore an option to remove or completley debrand would be the best option.
