so... I found configuring the PHP Configuration from WHM is pretty messy... can I directly modify the php.ini file?

You can edit it Via SSH

    Code:
    nano /usr/local/lib/php.ini

Any modifications you make by editing the php.ini file by hand will be lost when cPanel or PHP is updated (as in, by running EasyApache). Use the editor in the WebHost Manager. It is the only way to preserve custom changes.
