Cool WatchMySQL is now a WHM plug-in

Just shooting out a update for those of you who may already be using our WatchMySQL script. The script has now been converted into a WHM plug-in. Their are also a few new features. Admins can now set limits by user, by package, or just set a global limit. User limits override package and global limits, and package limits override global limits. The new version also supports backgrounding so you no longer have to start it with a &.

Check it out here: NDCHost - WatchMySQL plugin for cPanel/WHM

Let us know what you think, or if you have any problems!

    Errors

Warning: mysql_query(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/watchmysql/watchmysql.class.php on line 218

    Then

MySQL Server Connection Failed: Access denied for user '"root"'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
Access denied for user '"root"'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

I just changed my cPanel license to NDCHost so let me know if you want to look at it.

The script is running, so it just appears to be the WHM portion not working.

    Hi,

Not 100% positive if that is the correct password or not....I will change it and see if that file changes.

I changed it and still have the same error, I will put in a ticket.

Lol, got an error trying submit a helpdesk ticket after loggins into NDCHost website.

[Warning]: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/helpdesk/public_html/__swift/library/User/class.SWIFT_User.php:538) (client/class.Controller_Submit.php:460)

But I did get assigned a ticket ZAL-228-19332, I guess because it was only a warning error, but the rest of the page was blank, I got a screen shot of it if you want it.

I found the issue, in .my.cnf file my password was in "quotes", once they were removed it started working fine. Thankd for providing this script!

However, everytime I run the script the quotes are put back in the file, strange....

Sorry about that! Some of cPanels scripts add the double quotes to /root/.my.cnf and some dont. WatchMySQL version 4 should work for you now! Log into the WHM, click on the plugin and you should see a new version notice at the top, click the upgrade link.

As for the ticket desk issue, we made the mistake of upgrading to kayako (or fusion) version 4, they released it as stable but it's far from that, full of bugs and problems, and no fix's I'll look into the problem!

I would liek to test this, but I don't see any uninstall instructions. How can we uninstall it, if necessary?

There is a uninstall script in the installer directory, but here's how to do it.

    rm -f /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/addon_watchmysql.php
    rm -rf /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/watchmysql
    rm -f /usr/sbin/watchmysql
    rm -f /etc/watchmysql.config
    rm -f /etc/watchmysql.userlimits
    rm -f /etc/watchmysql.packagelimits
    rm -f /etc/chkserv.d/watchmysql
    rm -f /etc/init.d/watchmysql

Installed this and it works perfectly!

I cannot remember the support officers name, I think perhaps Steve or Steven was very helpful where it came to the use on a CloudLinux system.

Seems to work as they described it would.

    Thanks for the great application.
