Default What to back up for clean install

I am preparing to do a format and clean install of Debian 3.0, cpanel and WHM
I'm currently running Redhat Linux (errata)

My websites are backed up on a secondary drive.

I need to preserve my ip's and other settings to ensure any loss of data or unnecessary downtime.

What files/folders can I backup that can be imported back into the server after reload to restore it to its original state?

What files should you avoid if your server has been compromised?

So far, I believe these are correct, am I missing anything?

    /home
    /etc/passwd
    /etc/group
    /etc/passwd~
    /var/lib/mysql

    Thanks for your help
