Default What is best to update Release or Stable

    Hi

what version is best to update cpanel ?
    Stable version or Release ?

    STABLE
    9.1.0-STABLE_93

    RELEASE
    9.1.0-RELEASE_85

does this mean that the stable (93) is newer one and better ?
or just every version (stable, release)
    has it's own versioning ?
    I mean that 85 < 93

    Thanks

    Roman

    Hi,

Stable version is recommended for update.

The term "release", as used on the download web page refers to the lastest version of the Software available for "general use".

The term "stable" refers to the last "general use" release that has demonstrated itself as being reliable in real world environments.

Each new version which is published is referred to as the "release" version until a subsequent version is published. Likewise, "stable" always refers to the release which is considered the most reliable

May be this will help to solve your problem.

    Regards,

    Bright

I would go for Stable, because recently the Release updates have been incredibly buggy.

The Stable releases have been just as buggy lately. Seems they are all in testing as of now.

But how can it be that STABLE has a higher version than RELEASE?
    This is absurd.
My update log f.e. saws Updateing to 'latest stable' (while running R85) and while in the update process it is telling me:
You are running the latest Release.

It should update to S93 for my understanding, something must be wrong, or?

If you have configured your updates to STABLE then you should have 9.1.0-S_93. If you have had your settings set to STABLE and do not have S_93, then something is wrong.

    Yes, exactly my understanding

    My cpanel version is:
    9.1.0-RELEASE_85

My Update preference is: Manual Stable only

While performing an upcp it claims to update to 'Latest Stable' later on telling me 'You allready have the latest Release installed' (don't remember the exact phrase!).

After login in to the whm it still shows 9.1.0-RELEASE_85
