    Default what is exim??

    hi

    i know that this question maybe look stupid but i plz answerme

    what is exim? that is my question.

    and what is his job in the server xDD
    i think that i read somewhere that is something with the mail

    but i don't know if that is true.

    can i disable it?

    and still using neomail and using my outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird???

    and send mails with the php (i belive that php use sendmail , so it's okay, no?)

    you may think that every network admistrator should knoww this answers but i'm not and admin xD

    i just get my first box and everything is new for me

    Exim is the MTA ( Mail Transfer Agent ) that is used on cpanel servers to transfer mail from one server to the next ( Usually then received by a client ). You will need exim running in order to use the sendmail executeable, and in order to receive & send mail on your server ( be it neomail, squirelmail, outlook, etc. ).
