Default What The Hecks Going On With Ftp????

WHAT THE HECKS GOING ON WITH FTP????

How am I suppose to keep new customers happy when they have to call 5 times a day and tell me to switch from ProFTPD to Pure-FTPd and then back to ProFTPd???

Surely I can't be the only one having this problem!

Does anyone have a fix for this?

None of my customers have mentioned any problems with FTP on our server. I'm not sure what to tell ya.

None of our servers are having FTP problems.

How about describing your problems so someone may be able to help.

Fix for your customers asking you to constantly swop between FTP programs? Ignore the users or kill them...

Nope, not had any problems either - any reason that you're not just staying on pure-ftpd?

Have you actually logged a ticket with cPanel if you're having coninual reproducable problems? If not, you should.

I have been having this problem as well. If you try to upload via ftp basically it will stop at 4 kb/sec and then continue to go down until it just pauses and disconnects. This will happen again and again and then start working a few times, and then just suddenly mess up again. With pro-ftp and pure-ftp.. it didnt happen before the last update, everything worked fine before.

    We cant figure it out...

Pure FTP will on display 2000 files at once and if a few people are ftping it will run out of memory.

You can change the number of files that are displayed in the pure-ftpd config file (/etc/pure-ftpd.conf)

Then you have something wrong with your server. We have tons of users using it on a very regular basis and have never had that issue. Could be you have to small a server what you are doing? (overloading)

    Default ftp problems

I too am having problems with ftp on my server.

    1. users are no longer able to ftp through a browser
    2. in the pure-ftpd directory, there are several broken links. my main virtual ip link is broken and pointing to a directory that does not exist (var/ftp)

This started yesterday. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

We did have few problems with Pro-ftpd last month,,, which forced us to move to Pure-ftpd.. but every thing seems to be working file till the date... we have not received any complains so far...

I would also like to add that some clients are just a JUNK... never to believe them..
