You need to substitute Exim or at least MTA for Sendmail if you are going to post in a cPanel forum.
No one (at least no one in this thread) said that cPanel servers are OPEN relays allowing anyone to send mail through them. If a user bypasses their local machine to send mail, then I say that that user is relaying their mail (either through their ISP or through a cPanel server). Who is arguing with you?
Saying that someone is relaying their mail through your cPanel server and calling your cPanel server an open relay are two different things. You can argue that once the user authenticates to your server, they become local to your server, but who really cares? Did you just post to vent some steam?
