what's the difference between domain parking and domain pointing?

in whm, it has "Park or Point a Domain" Are these one in the same are do they serve different functions? Is "parking" the same as "domain aliasing?"

imho means domain parking to link e.g. mydomain.com on another root domain like mydomain.net.

an addon domain is a link to a folder like mydomain.com -> mydomain.net/folder/
