In the layer1 downloads area I see:

Latest WHM for DNS SERVERS ONLY installer:

What is this exactly?
Is it a lite version of WHM for DNS SERVERS?
Does it require a separate license?

I just noticed it myself. Would surely like to know what exactly it is, license requirements (if seperate license is required) and how to go about running it.

I would love to have a central DNS system for some of my boxes.

We're interested in this aswell, currently we have to pay for full CPanel licenses on our slave DNS servers.

I have installad the dns-only version. there was no licence required. It look's like a very small whm.
but more I don't know.
I'm interested in some news about this version also.

There is no updated. Do a search. Nick has already stated that this a free addon for cpanel users that want to run standalone DNS servers. It is capable using the dns clustering feature that is listed in WHM. I am not sure what version of cpanel you have to be running, but I am sure that latest release will work, but not sure that latest stable will work.
