Default WHM and MX record confusion

We are having issues with our mail system. We have our domain name (tddc-tec.com) pointing to our host but we want the mx record to point to our internal MS Exchange server (70.56.95.XX). I thought we had it set in WHM, but we're not receiving any outside mail and sending outbound is also not working. Internal mail with the the company is working fine. We recently pointed our domain name to our new host's name servers. Our website (still disturbingly ugly) comes up fine but I think all mail is trying to hit the webserver also as opposed to our internal Exchange server, located at 70.56.95.XX.
Currently, the dns zone looks like this:
    http://www.seamlesshost.com/mx_issue.jpg

Should I put my helmet back on? I'm a little slow, so any help would be greatly appreciated...

    WHM 10.8.0 cPanel 10.8.1-R30
    CentOS 4.2 i686 - WHM X v3.1.0

    Thanks

Don't have a direct answer to your question but this post may help: http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread....314#post226314

Also in your zone file the line that points tddc-tec.com to 127.0.0.1 isn't required and actually will throw an error on dnsreport. http://dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport...n=tddc-tec.com

I could be wrong, but I think the DNS record should have these edits:

    mail.tddc-tec.com. in A record 79.xx.xx.xx

    then
tddc-tec.com in MX record points to mail.tddc-tec.com

Your jpg shows that your MX record is pointing to the 209.147.xx.xx IP, which is your website, correct?

At least, that's how I end up pointing to external Exchange servers without issue. (and don't forget to then add the domain name to the 'remotedomains' file, and remove it from the localdomains.
