Exclamation WHM Password Issue: Lenght & Limits

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had an answer to this question, as I tried searching few places but was not successful.

1. What is the maximum allowed length of root password for WHM (while changing the password from WHM page)

2. What are the allowed characters or not allowed characters in the password.

As I tried create a 25 digit alphanumeric+special character password and even though I received successful password change response upon hitting submit, WHM kinda locked me out and had to contact hosting support to reset the root password again.

So any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

No clue, we always change passwords via ssh.

As a tip - install an ssh key so if you break it again you can always use a key to login.

As far as the password, I would think any legnth and keys that went into the box would work - I guess not.

I've always changed the password via ssh, but I had one crazy 64 character password (alphanumeric and special) that in use about a year ago on a cPanel box. It worked fine both in ssh and WHM.
