WHM / PHP Customisation and storage locations

Hi there,

OK, we know that there's an included class that allows you to create an account, suspend an account, those kind of basic features. But how does WHM/Cpanel obtain the users current data transfer usage, ie bandwidth and FTP?

I'm assuming Cpanel doesn't use a MySQL database for all of the accounts? How does the storage of account information actually work? Where is it stored?
