Default WHM SSL - Wierd stuff

ok, read alot of posts about bugs in cpanel not being able to use the ca-bundle certificates, however this is kind of weird.

installed a comodo ca-bundle cert. using "Change Server Cert"
I get the warning when attemtping to access whm or cpanel via 2087,2083 about an untrusted cert.
However, i don't get that error when attempting to access the main site via https without a port used.

once i gain access to "There is no website configured at this address." i can then login directly to whm/cpanel without any errors.

i cant get here: https://sub.domainhere.info:2087 -> problem: warning
i can get here: https://sub.domainhere.info/ -> no problem: no warning
once i go the no problem url, i can now
i can now get here: https://sub.domainhere.info:2087 -> no problem: no warning

here's something else that is strange, IE7 does not get the warning message, but firefox (mozilla) does. 1.5.0.6

Default anyone know how to install a ca bundle for cpanel

I know that when accessing the secure url via https with the cpanel ports, the site is not recognized or atleaset the bundle is not found.

however it is when accessing the site using the default 443. Anyone know how to correct this?

I would like to know how to install the bundle's for my ssl (LiteSSL) from positive ssl (comodo).

I had read a few years back some problems with comodo, however was not sure.

    anyone have this issue before?

    Question my own post...lol

well either, i don't have a single clue of what i am talking about... (likely) or no one has had this issue

anyway, i'm cancelling the SSL certs i have purchased and looking for an alternative..

anyone have any cheap recommendations excluding goDaddy and comodo. I despise godaddy, and comodo is ca bundled.

    is there anybody out there?

    Default

port 2087 uses stunnel (TLS) and the servers hostname as the certificate
port 443 uses the domains SSL

    Default workaround?

So the work around would be to generate the certificate for localhost.localdomain?

because i did generate the cert for the servers hostname.

    whatcha think?

I got EXACTLY the same problem and still haven't found a solution. Mine problem is even simpler as I don't use subdomain in the URL to WHM/cPanel.

    Default Updated Cpanel...

I ended up purchasing a different type of SSL for my server:

    Comodo Instant SSL
    http://www.instantssl.com/ssl-certif...nstantssl.html

I updated cpanel to current, installed the cert. and restarted the services.
this finally fixed it for me.

Make sure to delete any ssl's installed for your domain that might already be installed.
This was a problem for me the first time around, as trying to install a new ssl for cpanel wasn't taking. I had to physically remove it, and remove it from httpd.conf also.

This fixed everything. It was cumbersome to figure out, but it fixed everything.
    Hope this helps.
