Is anyone else in favor of WHM being able to do SOA records?

Every DNS zone created by WHM indeed has a SOA. What makes you think otherwise?

A SOA is essential for updating DNS zones between master and slave servers, and also for name servers all over the world to keep their records up to date. Without SOA records, domain name services would simply not function correctly. This is not a special requirement for .su domains. All domains need SOA records.

PS: Enter any domain name you have set up on your name servers at www.dnsreport.com. You should see report on the SOA records neer the top.
