Default why MySQL on cPanel DNS-only?

    Hi,

    Can someone please tell me why MySQL is installed, or even needed, on the cPanel DNS-only edition?

    Is there anything in this package that needs it? Can I uninstall it?

    I was wondering the same....

    I think it may only be used for cPHulk, but I stand to be corrected.

    mysql> use cphulkd
    Reading table information for completion of table and column names
    You can turn off this feature to get a quicker startup with -A

    Database changed
    mysql> show tables;
    +-------------------+
Tables_in_cphulkd
    +-------------------+
auths
brutes
good_logins
logins
whitelist

    It is indeed due to cPHulk Brute Force Protection, which is one of the options in WHM on the cPanel DNS only box.
