Question Why WHM >> Networking Setup >> Nameserver IPs is not showing the IPs

    Hello,

Can someone tell me how to correctly setup the main nameservers in WHM?

I have 5 usable IPs and I followed WHM setup instructions normally but they are not showing in Main >> Networking Setup >> Nameserver IPs.

Note: the main server site is working!

    Please help.

    Default Not necessary

Setting nameserver IP addresses in this interface is not necessary. The only thing that it does is it edits /etc/nameserverips. It does not affect the way your nameservers work or the contents of any of your domains' zone files.

I recommend that you also review my post from earlier today about this:

    http://forums.cpanel.net/f5/assignin...ss-162633.html

If it is important to you to have the settings listed, you can edit /etc/nameservips directly using an editor like vi or nano, but as you have discovered, it is not necessary to run your nameservers or host your sites.

Thank you, Jared. The link solved half of the problem, now I see the IPs but still when I try to ping ns1/ns2.mydomain.com I get "ping: cannot resolve ns2.mydomain.com: Unknown host".

The weird thing is the site is working normally!

    Please advise.

Please ensure that your authoritative DNS/name servers have an A record for the sub-domains used. For example, if your name server is ns1.domain.tld, please ensure to create an A record for ns1.domain.tld, in the (parent) DNS zone of domain.tld, that points the ns1 sub-domain to the same IP address that was used to register your ns1.domain.tld DNS/name server at the domain registrar.

You may create an A (Address) record for name servers using WHM via either of the following two menu paths:
