A VPS license would be most cost effective for a Xen environment. Drop me an email to sales@cpanel.net so we can discuss this further.

    Just to mention this here.

Some days ago I realized my datacenter offers Parallels Virtuozzo and is marketing it heavily.

For my wonder cPanel licenses for non OpenVZ/Virtuozzo are cheaper now. That means for Xen, Vmware, or other virtual configs it was cheaper then running on Parallels products. At least it was when i got this licenses, and I loved to see that, since Paralles is just, well, Parallels...

That made allot of sense specially because Pesky from Parallels is the biggest cPanel thread and it comes default with Virtuozzo or they basically give it away for free with. I now this, I was a customer from Parallels for years and dropped all their products.

Now I see that all cPanel licenses for Virtuozzo are the same prices as for "Other Virtualizations" in my case that meanx XenServer.

I just wonder why cPanel took this approach, since this is obviously not the datacenter/company provider but initial prices must come from cPanel Inc.

Why did Virtuozzo licenses went cheaper?

It doesnt make sense giving licenses for your biggest thread company to the same price as for other virtualizations companies.

Instead of promoting XenServer or Vmware now there is absolutely not reason not to go with Virtuozzo for people that want to use cPanel. That means your just putting foot on Parallels table wich eventually will try at all means to put Pesky in their customers VPS servers. Its not very clever to promote Virtuozzo at any way so a counter strike measure should be charging a bit more for people that want to run cPanel inside Virtuozzo/OpenVZ.

Just like Parallels does if you want to run Plesk outside Virtuozzo.
