    Default Yum Error

    Hi,

    I have recently had to format one of my cPanel servers, I am currently trying to reinstall cPanel on the server...

    I am currently experiencing the following, rather frustrating error as I see no problem in the config it says is erroneus.

    [root@www0 home]# cd /home;mkdir cpins;cd cpins;wget layer1.cpanel.net/latest;sh latest
    --06:50:20-- http://layer1.cpanel.net/latest
    => `latest'
    Resolving layer1.cpanel.net... done.
    Connecting to layer1.cpanel.net[216.118.116.106]:80... connected.
    HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK

    You must update your /etc/yum.conf with a fedora mirror
    You can find a list of mirrors here: http://fedora.redhat.com/download/mirrors.html

    My yum.conf reads as follows....

    [root@www0 cpins]# cat /etc/yum.conf
    [main]
    cachedir=/var/cache/yum
    debuglevel=2
    logfile=/var/log/yum.log
    pkgpolicy=newest
    distroverpkg=fedora-release
    tolerant=1
    exactarch=1
    retries=20

    [base]
    name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Base
    baseurl=http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/$releasever/$basearch/os/

    [updates-released]
    name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Released Updates
    baseurl=http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/$releasever/$basearch/

    #[updates-testing]
    #name=Fedora Core $releasever - $basearch - Unreleased Updates
    #baseurl=http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/testing/$releasever/$basearch/

    Has anyone had this problem before and does anyone know of way of getting past it?

    Regards,
    Monil.

    You can try using another yum mirror site, that will definitely fix it.

    If you would like us to help you with this, just drop me an e-mail.

    And if you do decide to email the person, please come back and post the resolution on the forum, otherwise it just ruins the whole point of posting problems and their resolution for others, and the whole ethos of support forums

    Anyway, changing to a different mirror should help, the default ones do have their problems.
