zend optimizer 2.0.1 with php 4.2.3

i have a server Linux 7.2 Cpanel/WHM.

now i would like to install zend optimizer 2.0.1 on this server
I have already installed PHP 4.2.3, now could any one tell me as to how do i get zend to install on the server manually.?

Do i just untar the file and run &./install.sh& or is there any other method that i should follow ?

Hi, thanks a lot,

After untarring the file. I ran the ./install.sh file and i accepted all the default paths it showed me, now the Zend user guide says to make some modifications to my php.ini file is that necessary ? and also how do i check whether every thing is working fine or not ?
